The Mixed Bouquet

Designer:  David Galchett, Instructor:  Priss Buttler Hooked by:  Diane Trussel

I loved hooking this pattern, although it was a real challenge at times. The center flower was the most difficult, but I found that taking photos as I worked, it was much easier to get the shading that appealed to me. I continued with the photos during the entire project. -Diane Trussel

Our Mission is to develop and promote interest in rug hooking, to maintain high standards and encourage creativity in this art form and other fiber related art forms; to provide the means for exchange of ideas and information among the members of the Guild and to promote educational activities to enhance the interest in and the quality of rug hooking.

Team Members Needed

                          Sue Newell, Membership Chair

We have a great team of worker bees                                 for our guild but we are short-handed.                              A call for a Membership Chair at the                                 Spring Hook-In brought Sue Newell                                   forward to fill the position. We are          excited to work with Sue and welcome her to our team!

STILL NEEDED:  Rug Show Chair-we have opportunities to demonstrate and promote at the Vintage & Made Market in Lancaster in September, Winterfair in Columbus in December but cannot move forward without a Rug Show Chair. Scheduling demonstrators, planning the set-up and take down of the booth are the main requirements of the job. This position fulfills a huge part of our mission.

We all wanted to win our big beautiful door prizes but Dawn Baker won the 2 biggest. Yes, 2!

Fall Meetings Rug Challenge features Magdalena Briner Eby. Magdalena style rugs below are the creation of Lauren Fuqua. We thank Lauren for sharing them and her templates for the Magdalena design elements. Many of us traced them off. Can't wait till Fall Meeting to see what everyone comes up with!
