About Us

The Buckeye Rug Hooking Guild was formed to develop and promote interest in rug hooking and to encourage creativity in this art form. The membership meets twice a year to exchange ideas and information. There are guest speakers, formal presentations, workshops, and access to some of the best materials and supplies the area has to offer. Twice a year members receive a newsletter keeping them up to date about events. Hooking tips and hints are included as well. Members are invited to ask questions and share information at the Guild's Yahoo Group: buckeye_rugs.

Annual membership runs from January 1 to December 31; however, new members may join at any time.

The purpose of the Guild is to develop and promote interest in rug hooking. We strive to maintain high standards and encourage creativity in this art form and other related fiber art forms. We work to provide the means for an exchange of ideas and information among the members of the Guild and to promote educational activities to enhance the interest in and the quality of rug hooking.

Our mission is achieved through a variety of programs. The Guild annually offers workshops for its members featuring nationally known rug hooking teachers. The Guild often performs demonstrations throughout the state. For example, the Guild regularly provides demonstration booths at the Winterfair Craft Shows in Columbus and Cincinnati and at the Ohio State Fair.
